Svjetlana Kalanj Bognar, MD, PhD - EDITOR IN CHIEF

Svjetlana Kalanj Bognar is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Head of Laboratory for Molecular Neurobiology and Neurochemistry at the Croatian Institute for Brain Research, School of Medicine, University of Zagreb. She graduated in 1989 from the School of Medicine in Zagreb, from which she also received her PhD in 1998. Prof Kalanj Bognar has been working at the School of Medicine in Zagreb since 1992, when she as a young researcher at the Department for Chemistry and Biochemistry entered the exciting field of neurochemistry. Her research interests have included the role of membrane lipids in neurodegeneration and the interplay of specific membrane lipids and proteins in synaptic membrane organization. As her interests also include popularization of science, she has been involved in Science Festival and Brain Awareness Week. From 2012-2018, Prof. Kalanj Bognar was the Editor of School of Medicine magazine and a member of the editorial team working on the monograph on the 100th anniversary of the Zagreb School of Medicine. She was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Croatian Medical Journal In March 2019. 



Anton Glasnović, MD, PhD is a neurology specialist and and employee of University of Zagreb School of Medicine. He worked on Department of Neurology, Clinical hospital “Dubrava” from 2007. to 2015. His main scientific interest is neuroimmunology and he is also in official educational process to be a psychoanalyst. He has been working in the Croatian Medical Journal as one of the executive editors responsible for manuscript editing. Also pursues career as a jazz guitarist with various bands and musicians, and performed with most of the prominent Croatian jazz musicians.
